[30 cuft Pony on Single Band BC] [13 cuft Pony Stand Alone] [19 cuft Pony on Double Band BC]

In the photos above, the Ponease pony bottle bracket is shown in use with a 30 cu. ft. pony bottle mounted on a single band BC, a 19 cu. ft. pony bottle mounted on a double band BC, and stand-alone on a 13 cu. ft. pony bottle. This is to represent the versatility of the Ponease. What makes the Ponease so unique and sets it apart from the competition is the ease of which it works with any configuration.

Constructed entirely of 300 series stainless steel the Ponease is sturdy, durable, and corrosion resistant. It employs a low profile design which conforms to the contour of any size scuba tank. No tools are required for its use, making the unit quick and simple to operate. In fact, it is so easy to use, a diver can change main tanks between dives in a matter of seconds !

The innovative design of the Ponease separates this pony attachment system from all the others. The unit utilizes the Buoyancy Compensator Device's (B.C.D.) nylon tank band(s). Regardless of whether the B.C.D. has a single or double nylon tank band, is hardpack or softpack, the Ponease works with the same ease of use. The Ponease consists of two stainless steel plates connected together at their bottom with a stainless steel hinge, and a stainless steel catch and strike at the top of the plates. The Ponease is attached to the pony bottle with stainless steel hose clamps encased in a tubular nylon webbing.

Setting up for a dive and changing main tanks in between dives couldn't be any easier than with the Ponease.* To set-up for a dive, simply release the catch from the strike and open the Ponease. Place the B.C.D.'s nylon tank band(s) in between the two plates of the Ponease. Close the front plate upon the B.C.D. band(s) and re-fasten the catch. The Ponease is now incorporated with your B.C.D. There is never a need to unthread the cam buckle(s) on your B.C.D.'s tank bands when mounting or removing the pony bottle from the B.C.D. Now, slide the B.C.D.'s tank band(s) with the pony bottle attached, over the main scuba tank, just as if you were putting your B.C.D. on your main tank without a pony bottle. Located at the top of the Ponease is a nylon strap which is placed over the main tanks valve. This strap supports the pony bottle at your desired height, and enables you to have both your hands free to tighten the B.C.D.'s tank band(s). At this point, tighten your B.C.D.'s tank band(s) around your main tank, securing both the B.C.D. and pony bottle to your main tank. That's it, you're now ready to go diving. To change your main scuba tanks in between dives, simply remove the regulator from your main tank, you can leave the regulator on your pony bottle if you wish. Unbuckle the B.C.D., remove the B.C.D. and pony bottle together from the depleted tank, and place on new tank as in above. Its that simple.

Ponease Rescue
I
ntroduced by Sea-lutions at DEMA '96 is a new addition to our Ponease family, the Ponease Rescue Model. This unit emerged from a requirement presented by a Dive Rescue Unit, to be able to remove the pony bottle while underwater. Utilizing the same basic design as the standard Ponease, the Rescue Unit incorporates a positive locking removable pin in place of the Static pin in the hinge element; thus enabling the pony bottle to be removed while underwater. If you need to release the pony bottle in an emergency situation to give to another diver, simply pull the pin and pass the pony bottle to the other diver.

The Ponease is Easy because...

  • The Pony Bottle attaches directly to the BCD Band whether it is a single band or double band.
  • Changing tanks between dives is hassle-free since the pony bottle is attached to the BCD Band.
  • No tools are required after initial setup.
  • Because the unit requires nothing to be mounted onto the main scuba tank, it's an excellent choice for dive travel and rental tanks.
  • You can now take your pony bottle away with you to your dive travel destinations, since it is so easy to use with rental equipment.

* Before beginning, always wet your B.C.D.'s nylon tank bands before attaching it to your main tank. Nylon stretches when it gets wet, therefore failure to do so may result in your tank bands stretching while underwater, causing your main scuba tank to fall out.
